St Patrick's Day

Whodathunkit, but today is not a day of shenanigans filled with leprechauns, shamrocks, green beer and pinching bums of the non-green wearing folk here! London does not subscribe to what I hear is a day mostly celebrated by Americans and Irish ex-pats! Coming over from Kansas City, home of one of the largest St Pat's Day parades, this whole day seems like such a non-event! Yes, there are parties tonight with a green theme and sponsored by Guinness, but it's like a springtime Halloween party. I hit two networking events with a subtle Paddy Day theme. The first was Open Soho at Kettners. The meet up was filled mostly of tech and PR folks. I didnt stay long before heading off to "dirtysouthtwit" - a south of the river meet up for Twitter users. At the venue, my friend Chris, who does PR for Diageo/Guinness, had shirts, hats, pins and pens galore! Finally, I had my green shirt with Guinness logo! WOOHOOOO!! It's always the little things... really.
